How to Use

Query movie information using the OMDb API and return it in the PixieBrix sidebar. Optionally search the official trailer on YouTube.

Activate the Blueprint

  1. Activate this . If you're not logged into PixieBrix or you have not previously created a PixieBrix account, you'll be prompted to do so before continuing the activation flow for this .

  2. Once you are logged in, use the PixieBrix Extension Console to input your OMDb API key.

  3. Finish activating this by clicking "Activate" in the Extension Console.

Try it Out

  1. Go to any page to run your search. Like this Fandango page

  2. Highlight the movie name. Right-click and you should see "🍿 Search Movie: 'selectionText'" in the context menu. Click it.

  3. You can manually edit the select text in the popup modal, and click "Submit" to execute the query.

  4. Viola - PixieBrix returns the API results in the sidebar. You can optionally copy the data to your clipboard, or click "🎬 Search Official Trailer" to run a YouTube search for the trailer in a new tab
